What is CBD?

CBD is a phytocannabinoid that helps to regulate and achieve balance through our body's own Endocannabinoid System. CBD derived from Hemp contains essential nutrients, minerals, proteins and fatty acids which are essential for a healthy Barrier Repair Function and youthful skin.

Is CBD an antioxidant?

CBD is a powerful antioxidant, more powerful in fact than Vitamin C & E! Antioxidants help to protect our cells and their functions to keep them healthy and active, preventing premature aging in the skin.

Will CBD get you high?

No, CBD is a different strand than THC. THC is the chemical compound that is responsible for psychoactive effects. CBD is derived from Hemp and is an antioxidant that has no psychoactive compounds – its strictly healing. CBD and THC are both considered phytocannabinoids. CBD (cannabidiol) is derived from the Hemp plant which contains 10% CBD and less than 0.3% THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinols) are derived from the Marijuana plant and contain less than 10% CBD and a range of 5% to 35% THC which produces the psychoactive effects and is used for recreational and medicinal purposes.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp and Marijuana are close relatives and come from the same plant family however they are not considered to be the same thing. Hemp contains CBD, the non-psychoactive compound where Marijuana contains THC which is the psychoactive compound responsible for the “high” effect.

CBD for Aging Skin

CBD contains powerful antioxidant properties which research has shown can reduce the visible signs of aging by fighting free-radical damage. CBD that is topically applied can visibly prevent and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin and uneven texture. CBD also increases hydration in the skin which promotes healthy cellular functions.

CBD for Acne

A major culprit of acne is oil - an overproduction or an underproduction can lead to regular breakouts. CBD has been shown to create balance within the sebaceous glands by either increasing sebaceous production for dry/dehydrated skin or balances overactive sebaceous glands to reduce oil production.

CBD for Rosacea

A major culprit of Rosacea is the Demodex Mite which feeds off the oil in the skin and produces an enzyme called Lipase which can trigger inflammation and cause Rosacea flare-ups. CBD has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties while helping to balance sebaceous glands.

CBD for Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis and Sensitive Skin

A major component of skin disorders including Eczema and Psoriasis is a build-up of dead skin cells or an accelerated rate of exfoliation that leads to irritated, dry and scaly skin. CBD helps balance the cellular turnover rate and controls cell proliferation which reduces inflammation and irritation associated with these skin disorders.

CBD for Pain and Inflammation

CBD has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and noted to be effective in reducing swelling, bruising, sore muscles and achiness and reducing the pain level. CBD is effective at reducing sunburns, bug bites, bumps and rashes.
